Long journey of using valuable X-CT data in scientific ocean drilling is summarized from few examples used as post-cruise research in the 90s to the routine use at well-site right after core is on the rig floor in the last five years. Recent results from the fastest growing XCT data use in the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) expeditions, and the ultimate goals to achieve for challenging targets in the future are introduced.
