- W587684671 abstract "There are numerous factors that contribute to changes. According to O´Brien (2002) govern-ment agencies can introduce change programs in order to make an organization more efficient. External factors and internal factors can also contribute to change. Staff members that are included in a change processes are affected in different ways, some positive and others negative. In his book Angelow (1991) describes that individuals evolve both personally and professionally during change. We have studied the change process that took place on a organization that belongs to a public sector. Both the employees and management were interviewed regarding the change that took place. Change that is based on participation, safety and information are seen as positive and are welcomed by employees. Theoretically it can be easy to claim that the flow of information is good and working but is it really that way practically? With this study we want to examine if participation occur in change processes and how individuals react to the change. We have in our study taken a qualitative approach and implemented semi-structured interviews when interviewing the staff and the management. It was very important that the interview subjects that were chosen were from different hierarchic positions so that we could get a complete overview of the experience. The result of the study shows that the change that took place was a success but the participation from the employee side wasn't that great because the change was controlled by the top hierarchic positions and only required commitment and support from the employees" @default.
