The re-edition of the text, which in fact is merely a compilation of passages lifted directly from Photios’ two homilies on the Russian siege of Constantinople in 860, does not rely solely on the codex which contains it, but also takes into account the manuscripts containing Photios’ homilies. The textual variants in the manuscripts and the mistakes or corrections of the first edition are noted in the apparatus criticus, and an apparatus fontium is added." @default.
