- W590474672 abstract "1533 Objectives The Imaging Probe Development Center (IPDC) provides synthetic chemistry support primarily for intramural NIH scientists, but also has established active collaborations with academia and industry. IPDC, a core facility, has supplied molecular probes used in all imaging modalities including optical fluorescence, MRI and nuclear. The Center has developed in-house expertise across a broad range of synthetic chemistry, including small molecule syntheses, radiochemistry, polymer chemistry, nanotechnology and various bioconjugation techniques. Methods IPDC focuses on development of new radiolabeled targeting agents for PET/SPECT imaging, enhancement of current preparation methods and improvements in specific activity of PET/SPECT agents. Results The following agents will be described: 125I-MRS1898, a high affinity, selective radioligand for the rat A3 adenosine receptor; a PET imaging agent based on Lapatinib®, the clinically approved tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor; 18F-ML-10, an ApoSense® imaging agent that has potential applications in cancer and vascular imaging; 111In-CHX-A”-DTPA-Panitumumab® as a potential SPECT diagnostic imaging agent; 68Ga-radiolabeled Affibody® molecule for in vivo characterization of epidermal growth factor expression. Individual method developments, new approaches and synthetic improvements will be described for these diverse agents. Conclusions IPDC is a unique NIH core resource that provides interdisciplinary expertise in molecular imaging agent research and development. Examples of radiolabeled low molecular weight drugs, peptides and proteins will be discussed in detail to highlight the broad scope of projects carried out at IPDC.
