Innovations in work practice include the use of computerized road management systems such as devonet, which contains details of the state of highways in devon. Examples of new road products are also listed and brief details of their advantages and also how they should be used are provided. These examples include the following types of products: (a) tensor surface geogrid reinforcement; (b) binders; (c) rapid set mortars; (d) cold surfacing systems; (e) surface treatment systems that increase skid resistance; (f) all season surface dressing which enables application to be made with road temperatures as low as 4 degrees c as well as on damp surfaces with damp aggregates; (g) retread processes which provide a new bituminous carpet without the inconvenience of full construction; (h) surface dressing binders; (i) sealants which contain glass fibre reinforcement and which provide tensile strength; (j) joint sealant products and (k) instant repair systems.
