- W604272200 abstract "This research was undertaken in order to learn about the impact of the organo-metallic catalysts on the physical-mechanical properties of the Mineral-Asphalt Mixtures (MAMs). Two homemade organo-metallic catalysts (Pakwat Fe, Ferronaft) were analysed and tested in the hot surfacing of roads and factory-hall floors on a technological scale. Systematic lab tests of MAM were carried out both in its manufacturing process and in paving the experimental section of the international road E-67. Apart from such lab tests and after a two-year operating period, the MAM-blacktop was re-examined. Results of the work proved that the organo-metallic compounds used in these experiments have a considerable impact on the physical as well as mechanical properties of the MAM under examination. Considering the results, it can be stated that the physical-mechanical properties of the blacktop's samples surpassed those for the lab-fabricated MAM. In spite of their unquestionable good points, however, these mixtures cause a disadvantage that manifests in liberation of a residual hydrogen chloride during production and consolidation of such MAMs. To restrict that negative effect, we not only strictly observed the stoichiometric ratios between the iron chloride and the preparation containing organic acids, but also used asphalts of low acid value. For the covering abstract see ITRD E121480." @default.
