- W62218384 abstract "Television is one of the most ubiquitous cultural influences in the United States. Significant amounts of television programming contain graphic depictions of violence, which have only increased over time. Forty years of accumulated scientific evidence agree that exposure to TV violence on both children and adults increases the likelihood of aggressive behavior and the sanctioning of violence as a means of resolving conflict. Recently, parents, federal agencies, and media themselves have suggested intervention measures to curb the effects of TV violence, particularly on children." @default.
