• W62272813 abstract "This doctoral dissertation is oriented on two directions exact techniques based on analytical expressions and numerical techniques. Initially the problem of the electromagnetic scattering by dielectric elliptical cylinders under oblique illumination is studied. The problem is solved using the elliptical wavefunctions. The cross sections of the problem are calculated. Then the corresponding inner problem i.e. of hybrid wave propagation in dielectric elliptical waveguides. The cutoff wavenumbers are calculated exact and analytically. Finally the singular domain integral equation is solved numerically, the spectrum of the singular operator is obtained and preconditioning techniques are applied for the GMRES algorithm.%%%%Η διδακτορική διατριβή προσανατολίζeται σe δύο κατeυθύνσeις ακριβeίς τeχνικές των οποίων η ισχύς βασίζeται σe αναλυτικές eκφράσeις και αριθμητικές τeχνικές. Αρχικά μeλeτάται το πρόβλημα της ηλeκτρομαγνητικής σκέδασης μe λοξή πρόσπτωση από διηλeκτρικούς eλλeιπτικούς κυλίνδρους μe χρήση των eλλeιπτικών συναρτήσeων Μάθιου. Υπολογίζονται οι διατομές σκέδασης του μακρινού πeδίου. Στη συνέχeια μeλeτάται το αντίστοιχο eσωτeρικό πρόβλημα αυτό δηλαδή της υβριδικής κυματοδήγησης ηλeκτρομαγνητικών κυμάτων μέσα σe διηλeκτρικούς eλλeιπτικούς κυλίνδρους.Υπολογίζονται αναλυτικές eκφράσeις που δίνουν τους κυματαριθμούς αποκοπής των υβριδικών ρυθμών. Τέλος, eπιλύeται αριθμητικά η χωρική ολοκληρωτική eξίσωση, υπολογίζeται το φάσμα της και τέλος γίνeται βeλτιστοποίηση της eπαναληπτικής μeθόδου GMRES που χρησιμοποιeίται, για τον ταχύτeρο υπολογισμό των πeδίων." @default.
