This paper, which appears in a compendium of conference papers, discusses current state-of-the-practice techniques and previous research in this area. It also addresses shortcomings resulting from the current practice. A technique for speed feedback called pivot mode split feedback and a residual auto driver gravity model are proposed. The techniques were tested in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Results of applying both approaches to speed feedback are presented." @default.
