- W64172095 abstract "Abstract Through the action of γ-ray irradiation, two phenazine methosulfate (or pyocyanin) systems of cyclic photophosphorylation can be distinguished. One of them is not affected by γ-ray irradiation of chloroplasts and represents the “normal” PMS system of cyclic photophosphorylation that operates at high light intensity (75 000 lux) and in the presence of an optimum concentration of cofactor (0.1 μmole per 3 ml). By its unsusceptibility to γ-ray irradiation, the normal PMS system appears to be different from the normal vitamin K 3 system. The other PMS system is affected by γ-ray irradiation; it functions either at low light intensity (3000 lux) with an optimum concentration of PMS (0.1 μmole per 3 ml) or high light intensity (75 000 lux) with a suboptimum concentration of PMS (0.01 μmole per 3 ml). By its susceptibility to γ-ray irradiation, this system resembles the vitamin K 3 system of cyclic photophosphorylation and the systems of non-cyclic photophosphorylation which are all 50% inhibited by the same dose of irradiation (130 krad)." @default.
