- W647259912 abstract "This article discusses the deficiencies of common design methods used for sloped reinforced fill structures. The T.A.I. (Terre Armee Internationale) method is then described. The method is used to design structures built with metal strip reinforcements. The principle of the method rests in the knowledge of: a) the variations of the vertical stresses inside the reinforced mass; and b) the locus of the maximum tension in the reinforcing layers. The former were deduced from finite element studies. The latter were obtained from monitoring reduced scale models and full scale structures. Brief details of the analyses are provided.
