- W650161256 abstract "The purpose of the investigation was to study which influence the pavement type has on the accident rate. Primarily, surface treatment (y1 and y2) has been compared with asphalt concrete (mab). The results show that accident rate on surface treated surfacing can be 10 percent less than the same rate on asphaltic concrete surfacing. This applies to the southern and central parts of Sweden and especially during the winter. The difference found might to some extent depend upon variations in the frequency of accident reports. Thus no differences can be found when accidents with vehicle damage only are excluded. Factors contributing to the confidence of the estimate of effects are discussed in the report. (TRRL)" @default.
