To satisfy this require-ment, a common and efficient solution is to deploy a sym-metric group key shared by all group application partici-pants. Whenever a member leaves or joins the group, orwhenever a node failure or restoration occurs, the groupkey should be updated to provide forward and backwardsecrecy. Therefore, a key management protocol that com-putes the symmetric group key and forwards the rekeyingmessages to all legitimate group members is central to thesecurity of the group application." @default.
