• W65331465 abstract "Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) shows substantial morphologic, clinical, and genetic heterogeneity. Our understanding of this heterogeneity has increased with the development of several molecular technologies, resulting in the identification of genetic subtypes and important biologic pathways in DLBCL gene expression profiling (GEP) that has been used to separate DLBCL into at least two distinct molecular subtypes. One scheme focuses on two GEP subtypes based on the putative ‘cell of origin’ hypothesis. They are described as germinal center B-cell-like DLBCL and activated B-cell-like DLBCL and have been correlated with prognosis. Other technologies, including miRNA, comparative genomic hybridization, and single nucleotide polymorphism arrays, have been utilized to identify miRNA differential expression and copy number variants. Next-generation sequencing has begun to define the mutational landscape in DLBCL as well as to highlight the wide spectrum of genetic heterogeneity in this entity. As these advances in molecular knowledge contribute to the biologic understanding of DLBCL, targeted treatment strategies can be developed and refined." @default.
