This study was involving the role career develop ment and personal factors to pred ict outcome in quality of wo rk life. Questionnaires were administered to 429 wh ite-collar wo rkers employed at five public service organizations in Medan, Indonesia. The results found that career development was related to quality of work life o f emp loyee. Furthermore, personal factors such as; emp loyees' age, sex, educational level, length of service and marital status were correlated significantly to quality of wo rk life. These findings appeared to confirm, career develop ment and personal factor could enhanced quality of work life of employee. The imp lication of this study is that it does contribute to understanding of the ways by which the management can endeavor to increase quality of wo rk life on the needs of the employee and the needs of the organization." @default.
