- W69455311 abstract "The tumor of the granular cells is a usually benign tumor that originates in different places of the human anatomy as it will be the skin, cell tissue under the skin, the tender parts on different places of the human body. Its original based on the embryology has been highly discussed, there has also been a lot of talk related to that it could be muscular, nevertheless current studies inclines the scale to the conclusion that the cellular origin of the tumor of granular cells is neural, and this has allowed a mixed up from the histology way of thinking with other neoplasms. The age edge on which it shows is very broad, from months of birth to old age persons, the symptomatology on which it appears depend on where it is localized. Histology criterion has been expressed that help to differentiate the tumors of granular cells into three types, benign, atypical and malignant. This division is made in accordance with six parameters: necrosis, lengthened tumoral cells, vesicular nucleus with big nucleuse, increase in the number of mitosis (> of 2 for high power range), increase radius nucleus cytoplasm, pleomorfism. Other main aspect that helps to determine the malignancy of a tumor of granular cells is the presence or not presence of metastasis. There have been studies of immunohistochemistry to help differentiate the pathologic status of these tumors. The measurement of P53, Ki67 or its positiveness suggests the presence of more aggressive tumors. The cytometric of the flow, measuring the cellular ploidy may also help to guide the behavior of these tumors, eventhough it is not 100 percent safe. The tumor of granular cells may also be mixed up with other neoplasms that also have granular cells as it will be with some sarcomas on tender parts; nevertheless principal differential diagnosis is with the malignant melanoma and with the tumors of the nervous malignant peripheral sheath, as these one have an neural origin. In this part the use of immunohistochemistry is essentially for the differential diagnosis. The tumor of the granular cells that is malignant is of a very strange neoplasms, there are only 43 cases published in the whole world. Is even more strange the presence of malignant tumors of the granular cells located in the larynx, as there is only one case published on 1958. In this article we are reporting the second malignant tumor of the granular cells located in the larynx featured in the worldwide literature, in a woman of 50 years of age native of the republic of Panama. The treatment on these tumors is surgical based on a broad excise with free margins relying on the location. Up to this date the chemotherapy and radiotherapy do not play any role." @default.
