However, in nitric acid medium, ferric arsenate precipitates spontaneously even into solutions with high acid concentrations. Elevated temperatures increase the precipitation rate. Relatively small concentrations of sulphate block precipitation. However, the concurrent precipitation of sulphate as calcium sulphate allows ferric arsenate formation.
