Tem por objetivo discutir a superacao do modelo de professores universitarios como especialistas. Para tanto, utiliza de pesquisa bibliografica sobre o assunto a fim de compreender constituicao docente das ciencias de saude. A maioria dos profissionais da saude formado nas ultimas duas decadas foi estimulada a tornar-se especialista em alguma area. Contudo, atualmente requer deste profissional atender a sociedade de forma ampla e nao apenas por partes como nas especializacoes. Portanto, enfatiza-se a necessidade de formar mestres e doutores que compreendem alem dos conhecimentos especificos, os contextos tecnologicos, sociais, pedagogicos e didaticos os quais sao essenciais ao processo ensino-aprendizagem dos academicos. Espera-se assim, que a pos-graduacao a nivel stricto sensu auxilie na formacao dos professores da area de saude a fim de conduzi-los a novas proposicoes de instrucao que lhes possibilite promover a saude. ABSTRACT This paper presents a reflective approach to teaching in higher education private institutions in health. It aims discuss the replacement of the model of university teachers as specialists. To this end, it employed a brief literature review on the subject in order to understand the constitution of the health sciences faculty. Most health professionals formed in the last two decades has been stimulated to become expert in some area. However, currently meet the needs of this professional society extensively and not just parts like specializations. Therefore, we emphasize the need to form teachers master and doctors who understand knowledge beyond the specific contexts technological, social, educational and teaching which are essential to the teaching-learning process of students. It is expected that graduate level stricto sensu assist in teacher formed in the area of heath to lead them to new proposals for education to enable them to promote health.
