The african palm industry is growing worldwide due to the demand of nontraditional products and the development of biofuels. In Ecuador, this industry has a 20 percent annual growth. The production of Palm provided with 15.2 percent to agricultural GDP, while it represented about 3.64 percent in 2010. Global demand for Palm fruit grows at a bigger rate that supply does, ensuring in this way a permanent market; by the year 2010, demand had an increase of around 15 percent comparing to 2009. The target market for EFIASA are the processors of the area that use African palm fruit as raw material to produce oil and derivatives. According to market research, the mills in the area work with excess of 20 percent to 30 percent of installed capacity which represents about 10 thour, implying that they will require 1200 tons a month to work at their maximum capacity. This unsatisfied demand and the fact that the mills are looking for new suppliers, allow business plan to be viable commercially.
