- W75271608 abstract "We treat the problem of analyzing panel data with multivariate descriptive techniques in particular correspondence analysis. The most usual and easiest way to perform such an analysis consists of concatenating the tables and performing a principal components or correspondence analysis; in doing so we would forget the double nature of variability, due to the individuals and for the same individual due to time. Here, we propose to analyze both sources of variability separately. We analyze the individual variability by simple working with the table of average individuals over time, whereas we analyze the evolution over time by performing a conditional analysis to eliminate the individual variability. For this purpose we present a non-parametric analysis upon categorical variables, which uses the technique of graphs upon the individuals to represent the condition we want to control, following the same rationale of Local Principal Components Analysis. We call such analysis Local Multiple Correspondence Analysis; we prove that this analysis is very close to Conditional Multiple Correspondence Analysis inspired by the same principles as Rao's analysis upon instrumental variables." @default.
