- W765906009 abstract "The African dimension of the Comintern network underwent far-reaching alterations between the date when Padmore left Moscow in early 1933 and when Huiswoud sojourned in Antwerp and Amsterdam in 1934 and 1935. The ambitions of both the RILU Negro Bureau and Padmore had been to pick up Africans with a working class background and to train them in Moscow, but only a few of them turned out to be perfect matches. The main critique in Moscow of the Africans was that few of them turned out to be sincere Communists never mind about their capacity to be turn into devoted Apparatchiks. The RILU Negro Bureau started focusing on West Africa in 1933. At this stage the idea was to call for a Congress of the West African People to be organized somewhere legally in West Africa at the end of the year. Keywords: Comintern network; Communists; Moscow; Padmore; RILU Negro Bureau; West Africa" @default.
