- W778473669 abstract "The amphoteric styrene-acrylate copolymer (ASAP) was prepared by the surfactant-free copolymerization through using functional monomers N-methyl acrylamide (NMA), methacrylic acid (MAA), hard and lipophilic monomer styrene (St), methyl methacrylate (MMA), self-emulsified reactive cationic monomer methacryloyloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (DMC). ASAP were characterized by interfacial tensiometer, Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry analysis (TG), the result indicates ASAP has good surface activity and it is copolymer and it has better thermal stability. It was discussed that ASAP emulsified alkyl ketene dimmer (AKD), the obtained optimum weight ratio m(AKD)/m(ASAP)=4.5/1, formed ASAP/AKD hybrid emulsions with better dispersion and storage stability. In the presence of cationic starch (CS) and cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) acting as double retention agents, the influences of using dosage of composite emulsion about ASAP/AKD in sizing effect and surface strength were investigated in the sizing experiments in the case of straw and wood mixed stock, the obtained optimum using dosage for dry pulp is w(ASAP/AKD)=0.2%~0.3%, w(ASAP/AKD)=0.2%, sizing performance and surface strength is better in sizing paper sheet." @default.
