- W78971886 abstract "Ceramic inlay can restore a tooth to fulfill the patient's esthetic demand. Nevertheless, there are still some problems exist clinically. Such as the brittle property of ceramics which can cause the ceramic inlay to be fractured during try-in or cementation procedure, especially in case of Class II cavity. A well color matching of ceramic inlay with the restoring tooth is another problem. In order to solve these problems, we found some methods which could be applied easily with good results in clinic. A suitable shade of ceramics can be obtained by matching the middle third portion of vita shadeguide with the occlusal third of buccal surface of the restoring tooth. A space will be gained by inserting an orthodontic elastic separator into the proximal surface of the temporary inlay and the adjacent tooth. It makes the insertion of ceramic inlay easy without fear of fracture of inlay. It also facilitate the removal of excess resin cement to prevent gingivitis. The space will close spontaneously within one week. The occlusal adjustment of ceramic inlay can be finished with the use of a ceramic point developed for removing the excess ceramics with almost no damage to the marginal enamel." @default.
