- W792326584 abstract "This chapter addresses the relationship between religious education research and teaching religious education. The author's contribution in this chapter is from a neo-Aristotelian point of view. Neo-Aristotelianism as a label is used in different contexts as a description of a collection of heterogeneous thinkers. In order to make the analysis concrete, the author starts with an understanding of educational theory by a neo-Aristotelian educational philosopher in a particular paper, namely the article Philosophy and education by W. Carr. Carr together with writers as for instance J. Dunne and P. Hogan are inspired by neo-aristotelians like A. MacIntyre and C. Taylor, and are working towards a re-reading of educational theory as practical philosophy. He also tries to work out Carr's conception.
