The role of women worldwide is undergoing a dramatic change. There was a time when women were just kitchen keepers and housekeepers in the Indian society. Gradually women began to get educated, even highly educated and a stage came when some of them came out on the social and political field to rub shoulder with the men folk in these fields. This paper describes the various significant roles played by women in different sections of society like Agricultural, Social work, corporate sector, Self-employed group, Health sector, Politics, Administration etc. The paper also talks about the cut-throat competition given by women to the men of the country. Women have the very crucial role in the society to cherish the country and its development at international level. Margaret Thatcher said, If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.'' Women's education, employment, and family roles and the interrelations between them have attracted increasing attention during the last few years. Men of the country also get positive motivation from the women aspiring in different sectors of society. There is direct relation between the development of women and country.
