The effect of <TEX>$CH_4$</TEX> gas addition to a water plasma on the hydrogen production has been studied in a HF ICP tubular reactor. The main roles of <TEX>$CH_4$</TEX> additive gas in <TEX>$H_{2}O$</TEX> plasma are to react with 0 radical for forming <TEX>$CO_x$</TEX> and CHO and resulting additional <TEX>$H_2$</TEX> production. Furthermore, <TEX>$CH_4$</TEX> additives in <TEX>$H_{2}O$</TEX> plasma is to suppress reverse-reaction by scavenging 0 radical. But, process optimization is needed because <TEX>$CH_4$</TEX> addition has some negative effects such as cost increase and <TEX>$CO_x$</TEX> emission." @default.
