- W809243921 abstract "The purpose of this study is to make guidelines for the length of turning lanes at flared intersections. NETSIM model was used to simulate the intersection with various number of approach lanes. Repetitive simulation was carried out for different traffic conditions of cycle length, g/C ratio and demand. Field experiments were done at five sites to certify the model. It was proved that this model was useful to analyse the length of turning lane. The results shows that the value from 130m to 140m is most suitable to maximize the capacity for the cycle length of 120 seconds and the g/C ratio of 0.3. Design chart for different cases was suggested also which can be used to design intersection geometries." @default.
