- W83053886 abstract "Well test interpretation is the process of obtaining information about a reservoir by analyzing a pressure transient response caused by a change in production rate. This information can be used to make decisions about how to produce the reservoir to maximize its net present value. Many petroleum engineers believe well test analysis is too difficult for the average engineer to master. Although the development of mathematical models used in well test interpretation requires mathematical skills that most practicing engineers lack, the test interpretation itself--which depends largely on understanding physical processes in the well and reservoir--is within most engineers` reach. This article series focuses on the interpretation of pressure transient tests in realistic engineering situations, rather than mathematical model development. Types of reservoirs considered are saturated oil, unsaturated oil, low pressure-moderate permeability gas, and high pressure-low permeability gas." @default.
