- W83615861 abstract "1. Finite State Stochastic Games : A zero-sum stochastic game as formulated by Shapley [39] is played in stages. At each stage, the game is in one of finitely many states, s = 1,2,…, S, in which players I and II are obliged to play a matrix game, once. The Markovian “law of motion” is defined by transition probabilities, q(s′/s,i,j), where s′/s,i,j is the event that the game will enter state s’ at the next stage given that at the current stage the state of the game is s, and I and II choose the i th row and the j th column of A, respectively. In general, players’ strategies may depend on complete past histories. In particular, a strategy / for player I is a sequence (f 1,f 2.,f n ,..) where f n associates some probability distribution on the rows of A sn with each n-step past history h n = (s 1,i 1,j i ,s 2 ,i 2 ,j2,…,s n ). Here (i k,j k ) denotes players’ choices in s k . A strategy f = (f 1 ,f 2 ,…) is called stationary if f 1 = f 2 = … where the common f i ’s are conditioned only on the current state of the game. For a given strategy pair (f,g), let r n (f,g)(s) denote the expected income to player I at the n th stage when the game begins in state s. The overall payoff for the players in the stochastic game is determined by the manner in which the players evaluate a stream of immediate rewards r1, r 2,…). In a positive stop probability stochastic game, as originally defined by Shapley, player I continues to accumulate the immediate rewards. However, from any state the game could enter a terminal state with a state and actions dependent probability 1 - β < 0." @default.
