- W842396818 abstract "Most progression bandwidth models maximize the single or multi weighted sum of bandwiths in the both directions to improve traffic mobility on the arterial, but they cannot optimize the time to clear the accumulated queueing vehicles before the progression platoon reaches the downstream intersection. Even though a few models including queue clearence time have some defects in calculating the queueing vehicles . Therefore the effects of progression would be reduced. The queue clearence time is a important factor to control coordinated arterials. In this model, the queueing vehicles are composed of through traffic, turn traffic and intralink traffic arriving during the red time. And this model forces the queueing vehicles to go through before the progression platoon. The simulation results showed that the proposed model is superior to any other progression bandwidth models in reducing delay. In conclusion, the model can optimize the number of coordinated intersections and signal time to smooth progression along the artery." @default.
