- W857040863 abstract "For further elucidation of effects of an intermediate derivatization on structural properties of regenerated cellulose filaments, spinning of trimethylsilyl cellulose from a solution in N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) and NMP/LiCl has been studied in comparison to filament formation from non derivatized cellulose in N-methyl-morpholine-N-oxide monohydrate (NMMNO. H 2 O) and in NMP/LiCl. The filaments obtained were characterized with regard to textile mechanical properties (breaking strength and breaking elongation, elastic modulus, loop tenacity) and with regard to their physical structure by transmission electron microscopy and wide-angle X-ray scattering. Even in the solvent system NMP/LiCl, which itself strongly interacts with cellulose by complexation, a significant influence of intermediate derivatization by sysilylation has been observed, structural properties of the filaments resembling somewhat those spun from viscose, in contrast to the threads obtained from the same NMP/LiCl system without derivatization. On the basis of these results and those published by other authors, some considerations on regenerated cellulose filament formation from solution of the non-derivatized polymer and of cellulose derivatives are presented, emphasizing the chemical aspects." @default.
