- W869410962 abstract "1. Introduction1.1. Geo-Historical ConditionalityGiurgiu city is framed in Olt - Arges sector of the Danube Valley and it is the most pronounced narrowing taking place in Giurgiu region (1-2 km.). After narrowing in Giurgiu, meadow reaches 7-9 km. As for the genesis, the most part of it, there is a storage area formed by raising the Danubian Bed, Wurwmian, during the Holocene (Andrei, 2007).Floodplain structure is distinguished by two complexes; one basal composed of gravels (sometimes boulders) and coarse sands whose grain size decreases downstream and another upper and much smaller composed of fine sand, dust and clay dust. Bed erosion in silt is positive altitude to Olt River then declines irregularly, reaching 6 m below sea level at Giurgiu (Cotet, 1976).The microrelief meadow is varied, but generally finds an arrangement in longitudinal strips, beam near riverbeds (the highest), meadow strip median and low terraces located to the edge. Giurgiu municipality is located on terraces and Danube Meadow (Posea, 1984).Social and economic factors influence, in turn, the territorial evolution of the city. Thus, economic growth creates a population growth for the conditions of life, causing an evolution of spatial locality. This evolution can be territorial so the residential area (with housing) and in the industrial areas, commercial (with the emergence of new economic).Another factor is the historical and political evolution of the city that can brake or help to city's evolution, in general, and also to territorial evolution in particular. Often, historical factors have led to the disappearance of cities, to the appearance of others, to change their status or their rank, which is manifested directly in the territory. An example is the city Comatel (current Manastirea Village, Calara§i County) which, due to historical conditions, has existed for a short period of time as fair, then disappear. The city's history can be considered, from one point of view, as a permanent transformation of the physical structure of the villages, to bring them in line with the new demands of political, social and economic, with collective mentalities and different cultural aspirations.Territorial evolution performed by general and specific causes of the development of this city is marked, in large part, by the microrelief, being determined by the number of inhabitants and economic development functions in relation to political conditions. In time, the evolution of territories gained similar issues or outstanding in the Danubian cities. Analysis of various aspects that dress territorial evolution and functional evolution proves that they have influenced each other. The emergence of new functions - rail transport, big industry - and expanding of the oldest functional activities (river-sea transport, commerce, government, culture) prompted expanding space building and suburbs, with large number of residents, providing, for towns, contingent cheap labor. In certain periods of time, there have been through the care of those administrations, numerous free land very cheap, suitable for industrial construction, especially located near the ports (the Danube, representing the path advantageous transportation of raw materials, imported or not, and exported goods), rail station or residential areas. The construction of such industries in these fields has led to the extension of built-up and welding to embedding suburbs (basically villages recently) in close proximity (Cucu, 1970).Throughout their entire history, however, these cities have had periods of progress or periods of decline due to political events. It is enough to recall that since the fifteenth century to the end of the Second World War, they have often been completely burned, pillaged, besieged, occupied by foreign military forces, bombed, population decimated by plagues and floods. It should be noted that, in the appearance and development of urban centers, fortifications returned them a specific role. …" @default.
