For each isotope, 13 vibrational transitions from the lower 2 $^{2}mathrm{ensuremath{Pi}}$ (v''=0,1,2,3) to the upper 3${mathit{s}}^{2}$${mathrm{ensuremath{Sigma}}}^{+}$ (v'=0,1,2,3,4,5) electronic state have been observed and rotationally analyzed. For the 2 $^{2}mathrm{ensuremath{Pi}}$ state a well depth of 212(5) ${mathrm{cm}}^{mathrm{ensuremath{-}}1}$ and an equilibrium separation of 4.36(2)${mathit{a}}_{0}$ have been obtained. Analysis of the 3${mathit{s}}^{2}$${mathrm{ensuremath{Sigma}}}^{+}$ electronic state using an inverted perturbation analysis has revealed that the potential for this state displays, at large internuclear separations, a barrier greater than 60.6 ${mathrm{cm}}^{mathrm{ensuremath{-}}1}$ above the atomic Li 3s asymptote. The well region has a minimum of 570(7) ${mathrm{cm}}^{mathrm{ensuremath{-}}1}$ located at 4.11(1)${mathit{a}}_{0}$. An anomalously large fine-structure constant of A=2.77(3) ${mathrm{cm}}^{mathrm{ensuremath{-}}1}$ was determined for the 2${mathit{p}}^{2}$ensuremath{Pi} (v''=0) level." @default.
