- W91001256 abstract "We propose a four-trajectory model to interpret ${ensuremath{pi}}^{+}$ and ${ensuremath{pi}}^{ensuremath{-}}$ photoproduction off nucleons. The model makes use of evading $ensuremath{pi}$ and $ensuremath{rho}$ trajectories, an evading $ensuremath{rho}P$ cut, and a conspiring $ensuremath{pi}P$ cut. The model is found to be in good agreement with ${ensuremath{pi}}^{+}$ photoproduction data for lab $ensuremath{gamma}$-ray energies ranging from 2 to 16 GeV and $|t|$ values ranging from ${10}^{ensuremath{-}4}$ to $2.0 {(frac{mathrm{GeV}}{c})}^{2}$. It is also found to be in good agreement with the observed $t$-dependent ratio of ${ensuremath{pi}}^{ensuremath{-}}$ to ${ensuremath{pi}}^{+}$ photoproduction at 3.4 and 5 GeV. Predictions are made for high-energy charged photomeson production cross sections in which the bombarding photon is polarized." @default.
