- W919058686 abstract "The sensory marketing concept is captivating the attention of executives, consumers and academics. One of the reasons that sensory marketing is under discussion is because the model is based on consumer psychology. Sensory marketing strategy reaches the subconscious of human beings through different senses and experiences. This particular concept behind sensory marketing was studied further in this document by experimenting the effect of different stimuli on consumers especially at the point of sale. For the purpose of the study a second theory about brands must have to be consistent with their brand essence, values and personality was taken as an important assumption. Moreover, the content of this research is linked to the understanding of visual and olfactory stimuli on consumers mainly in the point of purchase. Through this study we try to understand the relationship between sensory and experiential marketing and how marketing strategies are essential in the retail business. Finally, to accomplish a clear understanding of sensory marketing an experiment and a quantitative study was conducted in the Ecuadorian market using a retail example. Hence, the purpose of the study is to understand the influence of visual and olfactory cues at the point of sale and how these influenced the decision-making process of costumers. The experiment was made in-store for Dr. Look’s Lab. Using a vaporizer machine with a tutti frutti scented essence we analysed and compare the revenues of the store between two periods of time. The results of the experiment determined an increase of 29% in sales when a hedonic olfactory stimulus placed in the store´s environment compared to a previous weekend where the scent was not activated." @default.
