Of all the methods, flue gas recirculation (FGR) is used for the fuels containing low amounts of chemically bound nitrogen, e.g. natural gas or light distillate fuels. Small packaged boilers are designed to operate on natural gas, light and heavy oils. A flue gas recirculation system has been developed to reduce NO/sub x/ emission for both firetube and watertube type boilers.
