The relatively unevolved object that we see today is thought to have accreted some of the AGB star’s ejecta via a stellar wind. This simple picture is complicated by the occurrence of mixing of the accreted material in the secondary star, where there are many processes that can potentially alter the surface abundances. We review some of these and discuss their effects on the abundances that we may expect to observe in CEMP stars, assuming our predictions for the AGB stars themselves are correct." @default.
