- W983944905 abstract "Publisher SummaryThis chapter describes solution libraries as well as support-bound reagents, soluble polymers, and resin capture strategies. Often the nature of the target molecules dictates the appropriate strategy for library generation. Although there are many differences between the solution and solid-phase strategies for generating libraries, in both cases the synthetic challenge is to develop reaction conditions that are general and high yielding. Perhaps the most obvious difference between the two methods is the linker to solid support. The linker can be considered as a protecting group employed throughout a combinatorial solid-phase synthesis. Only a limited number of examples of solution libraries have been published so far. However, the ease of preparation and early success ensure that work will continue in this growing field. Support-bound reagents, soluble polymers, and resin capture strategies have also been developed that combine aspects of both solution and solid-phase strategies. Some selected examples are provided to illustrate these different strategies." @default.
