- W991455441 abstract "Publisher Summary There are two basic methods used to collimate the X-ray beam (either as a slit or as a round beam). The slit beam collimation gives more X-ray intensity to the sample plane. However, only a one-dimensional pattern can be obtained. The slit collimated beam from different collimating systems will have different degrees of beam divergence. The Kratky camera defines the beam by means of two optical fiats, and 20,000 A resolution (the largest Bragg spacing that can be resolved from the central beam) can be obtained. The Beeman slit camera collimates the beam with a series of slits between the X-ray source and the detector. The limiting resolution of approximately 2000 A is obtained. The Bonse and Hart collimation system is accomplished by using a crystal slotted along a crystallographic plane. The resolution is comparable to that of the Kratky camera. However, below a particle resolution of approximately 7000 A, the X-ray intensity at the sample plane is less than that of the Kratky camera." @default.
