Hipotesis: Terapi olium oilvarum topikal pasca fototerapi UVB lebih berdaya guna menurunkan rerata pityriasis rosea severity score (PRSS) berbeda bermakna dibandingkan fototerapi UVB. Background: Pityriasis rosea is an acute self-limited inflammatory skin dermatoses of unknown cause, with its patogenesis have been considered as delayed hypersensitivity type involvement. There was no specific treatment modality ranked in Level I or II of evidence based medicine. Ultraviolet B (UVB) phototherapy has been proved to relieve the severity of disease; however it has an acute skin inflammatory effect. Topical olium olivarum has an anti-inflammatory effect in animal study. The efficacy of combination topical olium oilvarum and UVB phototherapy compared with UVB phototherapy in the management of pityriasis rosea has been undefined before. Objective: To assess the efficacy of combination topical olium oilvarum and UVB phototherapy compared with UVB phototherapy. Hypothesis: Combination topical olium oilvarum and UVB phototherapy is more efficacious significant than UVB phototherapy to decrease the mean of PRSS (pityriasis rosea severity score). Design: A randomized-double-blind-controlled-parallel design-clinical trial. Setting: Outpatient at dermatovenerelogy clinic Sardjito hospital. Participants: Fifty six volunteer with pityriasis rosea were enrolled. Intervention: Intervention unit is the skin of patient that will be divided into two region left and right. Fifty six of the half body surface (left or right) defined as “intervention†group will be treated with combination topical olium oilvarum and UVB phototherapy. Fifty six of the others half body surface defined as “control†group (left or right) will be treated UVB phototherapy. Variable: The severity of disease will be measured with pityriasis rosea severity score (PRSS). Subjective symptom will be measured by visual analogue scale. Statistic: Analysis unit is the decreasing of PRSS mean. The differentiation of the decreasing of PRSS mean will be analyzed by independent t test repeated measurement." @default.
